History
The
house was built by the end of 19th century in achitectory
tradition of that time by the foot of an old castle mound
of the Cours on the coast of Talsi lake. The building belonged
to the castle of duke Firx and was used as a dwelling house
of manor servants.
As time went by, duke ordered to demolish all servants' houses
placed on the top of the hill nearby his castle. This is the
only dwelling house remaining from that time. The original
planning of the house was maintained during restoration.
Today around the 1883 built castle of duke
Firx of Okte manor in southeast part of Talsi a splendid dendrologic
garden is cultivated - popular walkabout place for city guests
and inhabitants. |
